Question 1

What is the Pomodoro technique and how long should a focus session be?

Accepted Answer

The Pomodoro technique breaks study time into focused intervals, traditionally 25 minutes, followed by a short break. This timer defaults to 25 minutes of focus and 5 minutes of break, and both are adjustable in the settings.

Question 2

Will this timer notify me when a session ends?

Accepted Answer

Yes, if you allow browser notifications when prompted. You will get a notification both when a focus session ends and when a break ends.

Question 3

Can I track multiple exam dates at once?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Add each exam name and date to the exam countdown card, and they sort automatically by how soon they are, with a live days-and-hours countdown.

Question 4

Does the timer keep running if I close the tab?

Accepted Answer

No. Like most browser-based timers, it needs the tab to stay open to keep counting down. Session counts and exam dates are saved locally, so they are still there when you come back.

Question 5

Do I need to create an account to use the study timer?

Accepted Answer

No. The timer and exam countdown both run without an account, saving your settings and exam list in your browser.
